Ecological Reserve (Av. Tristan Achaval Rodriguez 1500, Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires) – this 360-hectare ecological reserve, developed over a garbage dump site, is a sizable green area that lets locals walk, jog, ride bikes and enjoy some of the city’s fresh air. The Reserve is popular with urban birdwatchers. Among the exotic birds found in the reserve’s Pampa wetland environment are six varieties parrots, swans and kingfishers. Among the other wildlife here are Vipers, turtles and nutria. Admission is free, and open only during daylight hours.
