Romario (Gurruchaga 1493, e/Gorriti, Palermo Hollywood, Buenos Aires) – this is a wood-fired pizza restaurant that also delivers (apparently using rollerbladers to deliver the pizzas!). Most visitors give the pizza served here a good rating.

Foreigners, especially Americans used to eating pizza in America, Italy and elsewhere will point out that Argentine pizza is distinctive for using little, if any, tomato sauce (emphasizing cheese as the major topping, especially the fugazzeta — a rich provolone cheese and onion creation). Thus, patrons who expect tomato sauce with their mozzarella and other toppings must ASK for the sauce. One topping often seen on Argentine pizzas that’s rarely, if ever, seen elsewhere is whole olives.
